It's Jamaican Week
Many thanks to our dear friend
Chef Pagiel Rose
For his tremendous help in preparations on this incredible menu.
Pagiel resides in Maine and is a native of Kingston Jamaica which he returns to annually to visit with his family and friends.
We are honored to have him with us.
He is also the sous chef at the Bluenose Inn in Bar Harbor.
A special thanks to Pagiels friend Jacob who also contributed ingredients and input to this weeks menu.

Arturo and I have been overseeing all food and beverage at the Black Bear Inn in Orono for well over a year now. We have 2 incredible banquet rooms, one divides up for either smaller events or meeting rooms. This is another Lafayette property and we are very proud to be a part of this. We offer our customers the opportunity to have us cater their larger events at this venue, although we can still accommodate smaller events at the Black Bear. In addition we can package hotel rooms and also provide bar service which are things we've not been able to offer in the past. We'd love the opportunity to show you the rooms and introduce you to the incredible staff at the Black Bear Inn.

We opened our doors in downtown Bangor is September 1998. Our 3 young boys have since grown to be beautiful kind hearted men. We have met and bonded incredible friendships with so many wonderful people who have been major contributors in influencing our boys. We have hired many employees with the great support from our community and so many of our employees have been with us for years so I know they thank everyone as much as we do.
Our journey has been tough at times, but we have never felt like not going to work. Each day is another adventure and each day we meet someone new.
We can’t stress our gratitude enough to everyone who has walked through our doors as a curious seeker and who left as a friend and customer. We have seen so many businesses come and go and yet with several others we continue to celebrate our longevity in downtown Bangor. When you come to Montes you are not only supporting a business, you are supporting the lives of the many dedicated employees we have who each day have also come in so positive and so ready to welcome their customers as well.
Thank you a million times over. We look forward to serving you for many years to come.
